SONCAP is a mandatory conformity assessment programme established by SON to verify that regulated products imported into Nigeria meet the required quality and safety standards before entering the Nigerian market. The programme plays a vital role in protecting consumers, promoting product quality, and facilitating compliant international trade.
As an approved conformity assessment body under SONCAP, Intertek provides a comprehensive range of services, including:
- Document review and compliance verification
- Product testing against applicable standards
- Inspection and verification activities
- Certificate of Conformity (CoC) issuance
- Technical guidance and support throughout the certification process
A valid Certificate of Conformity (CoC) is required for regulated products exported to Nigeria and supports the issuance of SONCAP certification, helping facilitate customs clearance and market access.
